People Continuing To Be Too Serious
Every week, Johnny Goodtimes posts a question of the week on his website; he then asks it at all of his quizzos that week. It's a way to get people to go to his website and remember about quizzo (or something like that).
Anyway, this week somebody edited the Wikipedia entry for the question of the week's subject (Mark Linn-Baker, for some reason) in an attempt to have people look up the wrong answer.
Now that's fairly clever. And also fairly pathetic, but some people really, really, really take quizzo seriously.

Ridiculously Nerdy/Fun Event Held At Ridiculous Time
They were going to hold it at 4 a.m. to be more convenient, but City Council Quizzo already had that time reserved.

Status quizzo
Okay, kiddies, gather 'round. It's story time! Let's go back, way, way back to the spring of 2004 -- okay, not really that far back -- when yours truly was a simple Penn senior awaiting graduation, trying to lose weight and sitting around making fun of the local media. So, really, not much has changed, except for graduation and that my missives directed at the local media now reach far too large of an audience.
There's a tradition for Penn seniors called Walnut Walk. You start at City Tavern and go west all the way back to campus, stopping at bars along the way. (If you're really interested, I did a reading about it last year.)
Sometime during that walk, some friends and I stumbled into a bar that had a big sign advertising "Johnny Goodtimes Quizzo." We thought that if quizzo on Penn's campus was fun, then Johnny Goodtimes' quizzo must certainly be fantastic! And then we won a best team name at another quizzo the next day by naming our team "Johnny Goodtimes."
Fast forward to late last September. (I didn't say this was going to be a good story.) I've been to Johnny Goodtimes' quizzo a few times. I'm doing this job for under a month. I'm out, sharing a table with random people at a crowded bar. And who sits next to me but Johnny Goodtimes. Right: Just a stupid coincidence. But funny nonetheless. And who calls me when I'm with the same high school friends just last Saturday night? Right: Johnny Goodtimes.
With all this Dan McQuade/Johnny Goodtimes synergy going on, obviously I have to plug his "Quizzo Bowl II," which is Jan. 29. It's $10, and Johnny says that the top two teams from last year (Where's Johnny, Sofa Kingdom) will be back. The winner gets $300. Local jazzmen Nate Wiley and the Crowd Pleasers and comedian Norm Klar provide entertainment.
Full Johnny Goodtimes release after the jump. For a trivia guy like me, Quizzo Bowl II will be a nice chance to prove how in reality I'm actually quite bad at it.
