Jocelyn Kirsch Headed To Jail, Etc., Etc.

070208jocelyn.jpg
Hungry for content, Philly.com struck some sort of deal with a judge or the devil and now Jocelyn Kirsch is going to prison by 2 p.m. tomorrow. Huzzah, huzzah. Who was that dude's name again?

If you don't remember, Kirsch caused a storm all over BBSes about 30 years ago when she and her boyfriend (who?) were arrested for identity theft and related offenses. She was pretty cute and had a ridiculous body so everyone on the Internet kept searching for her. Newspapers and lazy bloggers picked up on this and posted a bunch about her.

Anyway, now she's going to prison and won't come out for a while. I guess this means this is the end of hearing about her for a few years, but I wouldn't want to make that bet. Still, there is a chance there won't be any more news on this until Kirsch agrees to pose for Playboy. Since the mag doesn't confirm or deny rumors of offering people money to pose nude, let's just go with this: Sources say Playboy has offered Kirsch $1 million to pose for the magazine! And, yes, I'm sure somebody's already made this joke. Eh. Whatever.

Update: Oh, she surrendered to authorities at around 1:30. Fun times.

Playboy Prison Guard Reinstated

012408heatherhull.jpg
Berks County hero/prison guard Heather Hull has returned to her job as a prison guard; she was fired last year for posing in Playboy.

Though citing a lack of moral judgment, Arbitrator Charles Long said Hull did not besmirch the county's reputation by posing in a simulated correctional officer's uniform.

Yes, a lack of moral judgment. Oh, no, you can't pose in Playboy -- what will we tell the children about prison guards, their greatest heroes?

Cole Hamels Has It Better Than You

Although he didn't get the win last night, here's guessing Cole Hamels had a pretty good day yesterday. Just look where he was visiting.

'Playboy' Playmate Meets Hollywood's Finest

Playmate
Oh, you all knew it was only a matter of time before Philly EDGE wrote about the Bucks County girl who is Miss May 2007 in Playboy.

Twenty-year-old Shannon James is Philly EDGE's cover girl this week, and apparently: She's a nice person! She's excited about being in Playboy! She was naked for six hours! She has a Myspace!

James got her start on Howard Stern, after a friend sent photos of her in a bikini to the DJ, and then she appeared on the show while Stern and Artie and KC and Bah Bah Booey and Fred and Eric the Midget (or whoever) gawked at her.

And, uh, she's met the biggest celebrities in the world.

She attended the legendary Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion where she rubbed elbows with the likes of Luke Wilson and Pauly Shore. [...] She even refers to the iconic Hugh Hefner, the magazine’s founder and editor-in-chief, as “Hef.”

Wow. Maybe if she becomes Playmate of the Year she can meet Carrot Top.

Bucks Co. Girl In Upcoming 'Playboy'; 'Philly EDGE' Pounces

030807shannonjames.jpg
The undisputed champion of the suburban alt-weeklies (or SAWs), Philly EDGE, passed a link over yesterday with a stunning development: A Bucks County girl is going to be in Playboy!

Okay, so that's probably not so novel. It's probably happened before. But, like a good SAW, Philly EDGE is really, willing and able to tackle the story:

Bucks County resident Shannon James (right), 20, has been selected to be the Playmate of the Month for the May 2007 edition of Playboy. The issue is scheduled to be on newsstands on Friday, April 6. Read, and see, more about Shannon in an upcoming issue of Philly EDGE.

Aw, that's a good suburban alt-weekly. Good boy! Now put her boobs on your cover next month. Oh, wait. I don't need to tell them that.

Update, 10:34 a.m.: Apparently, James' legs were sawed off in an accident of some sort, according to that photo.

I Have A Dream Of Taking My Clothes Off

050206danakelly.jpg Yesterday, there was new Eagles return man/wideout/skiier Jeremy Bloom in a half-naked advertisement.

Today, there's eye candy of the other gender, as NBC 10 spends a few minutes with a local mom who's on the cover of Playboy. Yee-ha!

Well, actually, she's on the cover of Playboy's College Girls, which is some sort of special issue featuring, wouldn't you know, college girls. Dana Stidham -- she goes by Dana Kelly in the magazine -- is a nursing student at Del Tech Community College.

Her family seems very excited about it -- "There is classy sexy and trashy sexy. I don't see anything wrong with Playboy," Stidham notes -- although her dad said he didn't want to help her picking out photos.

The best lines in the report aren't in the text of the story posted online, but go to NBC 10 reporter Tim Furlong:

  • He begins his report with: "We all have a dream in life. One student at Del Tech Community College, she had to take her clothes off to make her dream come true."
  • On her son: "Little Anthony here has a playmate. No, not another little boy -- it's his mom."
  • After Stidham says, "I like having my picture taken," he voices over, "Yes, she does."
  • On making it into Playboy, Furlong narrates: "She says tough workouts, tanning beds and a little bit of plastic surgery have helped make it happen."

And, of course, there's the requisite cleavage shot:

The issue, in all its airbrushed glory, hits stands May 27.

Catching up with the Bunny Blog

122205bunnyblog.jpg I haven't checked in on the Eagles' bunny blogger recently, so I figured I'd take a look. If you missed the story earlier this month, the quick recap: Kendra Wilkinson, who's on The Girls Next Door as one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends, blogs for the Eagles. (That's her at left with Hef.)

She's really only posted two times, all the other posts are just photos of her. This, of course, is not so bad, since she's a model and all. But, she did weigh in earlier this month on the charity basketball game she was planning on coaching:

"Shout out to the bloggers for the suggestions on what to do coaching in the basketball game. A lot of people think I can show up with a short skirt on and a skimpy outfit and distract the other team – NOT TRUE!!! CAN'T DO IT!!! The NBA specifically told me not to wear anything skimpy. I have to wear pants and I have to look like a coach. I'm like, 'Dang ....' I have a dress code just like the players!!!!

"It's gonna be super cool and i'm just gonna tell the guys to pass the ball and have fun. They've all played ball. No, i’m gonna be like Bob Knight and throw chairs!!!! Keep it fun ... that’s my main thing.[...]

“I told Hef about the blogs and he's into it. A fan on the blog said we should show me and Hef watching an Eagles game for 'The Girls Next Door' next season and he wants to do it. I need to get him an Eagles robe for Christmas. That would be a cool present ... They've taped me before watching a game but they didn't use it .. some stupid rules from the NFL or something like that. Hef wants to promote the Eagles and give a shout out!! Yea, boy ....”

So, the NBA hires a playboy bunny to coach a charity game, then tells her she has to wear, in essence, a parka. Effing morons.

Eagles find way to keep fans interested in season

120705playboyblogger.gif

Shit. I give up. I can't compete with that.

Actually, let's investigate a little. (Sorry to get your hopes up.) The Eagles playboy blogger is Kendra Wilkinson, one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends and one of the stars of the reality show The Girls Next Door about life at the Playboy mansion. Indeed. Her first two blog posts were just photos of her in swimsuits, but she mused on the Eagles' loss Monday night:

I tried to watch Monday night’s game, I really did. it was awful! i watched the seattle game until the interception was returned for a touchdown and then i couldn’t take it any more!

Which means she watched about three minutes of the game. In fairness, she said she was flipping around afterward -- like most Eagles fans watching the game, I'm sure -- and caught some other clips of futility in the Eagles' 42-0 loss.

Other things learned from her blog post? Hef is an Eagles fan (because she is), they have "like 10" security guards who get in the way if people approach them when they go out (probably a good move) and she's coaching a basketball game with Bow Wow and Snoop Dogg on Saturday. Wow!

Oh, and how could I forget! The required photo:
