Clinton Whines About People Whining
Hillary Clinton was on Good Day Philadelphia this morning to dance with mascots to whine about Barack Obama whining about the awful debate. Again, the news media continues to focus on the issues.
To note: Her campaign sent this video out; she will soon be imprisoned for copyright infringement.

Favorite Cartoons Fight Fraud
Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett went on
Good Day Philadelphia yesterday to talk about an investigation, but also made sure to note that on whatever fraud website he was investigating, his crack team of investigators was using names like "Batman" and "Spider-man" and "my favorite, Wile E. Coyote." Whoo!
Video after the jump.

Boyz II Men Return Older And Fatter
Hey, Boyz II Men are back! Apparently. Although one member of the group left due to scoliosis and two of 'em got fat, apparently. And they're not quite as popular as they used to be, since today's record release was punctuated with a performance on Good Day Philadelphia.
According to this press release, they've also taken up the good cause of defending TV talent shows. In other news, their new album is produced by Randy Jackson, judge on American Idol.

Apparently They Put Jennaphr In A Corn Maze This Morning And Somehow I Missed It, Dammit
To be honest, though, ever since they got rid of the dancing mascots watching
Good Day Philadelphia just hasn't been the same.
If there’s one thing that’s killing me this early afternoon, it’s knowing that of all the days that I didn’t TIVO this morning’s edition of “Good Morning Philadelphia”, it had to be the day that they dropped Jennaphr Frederick in a corn maze somewhere in the wilds of Chester county.
Word is that she’s still there, and after years of abuse, Steve Keeley is refusing the use of SkyFox to locate Little Miss Thing.

Dammit, We Almost Got To See A Naked Woman
This morning on Good Day Philadelphia, reporter and inexplicable fan of Philadelphia Will Do Jennaphr Frederick was at a new Filene's Basement in New Jersey, covering a rush of drunken brides attempting to get cheap wedding dresses.
While reporting on-scene, a little action took place over her right shoulder.
Dammit! So, so close. Thanks a lot, cameraman.

'Daily News': Only Clothing Is Offensive
The
Daily News achieved another victory for the war on jackets with fake bullet holes in them yesterday, when
the Good Day Philadelphia anchors apologized on-air for giving away promotional items for the movie
Shoot 'Em Up. (Oh, yeah, and
the apology story has been picked up by the AP. But of course.)
You may recall, in yesterday's Jill Porter column, she whined about how Clayton Morris and Sue Serio gave away a jacket with bullet holes in it. Because people get murdered in this city, this is apparently offensive -- and Porter went to the DA's office to let them know how offensive it was, too.
To give Serio and Morris some credit, they actually made a real apology and not some sort of "I'm sorry some of you were offended" fake apology. Morris even took a page out of the book of Daniel McQuade and called himself an idiot. To avoid offending people in the future, I'd suggest sticking with time-tested non-offensive content, like dancing mascots.
The offensive part of the promotion seems to be a bullet-hole ridden jacket for a movie titled Shoot 'Em Up, which seems like a particularly appropriate type of giveaway for a movie with that title. In fact, the Daily News itself seems to owe us an apology, since the DN gave away prize packs for the movie Shoot 'Em Up, which -- from a quick glance at other giveaways from that movie -- appear to be a Playstation 2 with a gun accessory.
How dare the Daily News teach young children how to kill with a PS2. They might turn into thugs! The blood of the innocents is on your hands, Daily News.
You got me, though: I only really wanted to write about this so I could run a photo of Monica Bellucci.

'GDP' Lands Biggest Interview Since Phillie Phanatic
Today on Good Day Philadelphia, we were treated to a break-in every little bit for "Diddy Watch," where the anchors commented on how Sean "Puffy" Combs was in Philadelphia today! And he's being interviewed by Power 99! And maybe we'll be talking to him later!
Diddy's here to promote, uh, a new album and thank kids for buying Sean John clothes. And GDP did get that interview with Puff Diddy, one that was way more insider than anyone could have expected it to be. People in Good Day's target audience (whatever that is) couldn't have gotten much of what was said. In fact, I bet a few viewers' heads exploded during the discussion of "Diddy High."

How You Doin', Jennaphr?
Yesterday, Dan Gross reported this little nugget about Jennaphr Frederick:
Fox 29's Jennaphr Frederick was recently spotted in the Bala Cynwyd offices of NBC-10 where the NBC network was holding callback auditions for a new national show to be broadcast from Orlando debuting in December. ¶ Frederick, we're told, had previously auditioned for the yet-untitled program, which is supposed to be a live talk/entertainment show in the vein of "The View."
First off, I give that show three weeks. Second off, today, on Good Day Philadelphia, the following happened:
First off, awesome. Yesterday, Gross said she was trying to get a job on a View-type show. And, today, she publicly declares it! On her current show! (Okay, only kinda.) Either this is the best coincidence ever, or Jen Fred has some mighty cajones.
Second off, I give How You Doin' about three months.
Totally tubular [DN, 2nd item]

Let Me See That Thong
This morning on Good Day Philadelphia, Jenn Frederick demonstrated some sort of snowboard-like skateboard thingy. (I wasn't pay attention to what it was called. Shush.) While she was riding it around, Steve Keeley came into the screen and pointed out something...
Did you catch what he said? "We had a leopard-striped thong sighting." I'm sure he was joking, but since you wouldn't be able to see it on YouTube anyway, so let's just pretend he wasn't joking. C'mon!

Mascot Monday Has Totally Gone Nuts
While this isn't quite at the level of the minute-and-a-half Phillie Phanatic Mascot Monday, this is seriously effed up. Today's Mascot Monday features a giant sun, freakin' Santa Claus and the return of Jennaphr Frederick:
Some thoughts about today's Mascot Monday after the jump.

Mascot Monday Now Inventing New Mascots
It's beginning to look like Good Day Philadelphia is never going to run out of mascots. When they began doing Mascot Monday, it seemed like they'd have a few weeks of mascots to dance with, then, well, they'd run out.
Touché:
Jennaphr Frederick is off today, so George Mallet and an intern take over the dancing -- with two mascots who may have just been created specifically for Mascot Monday.
Our favorite character here is "Caitlin the Intern," though, as, basically, we're hoping she's getting college credit for this.

No BS In Today's Mascot Monday
Seriously. Today's Mascot Monday is all get in, get dancing, get going. No banter, only a short introduction of today's mascot -- a Rita's Water Ice gelati, who becomes the first mascot to appear on Mascot Monday twice (according to my records). Jennaphr Frederick even talks about her weekend during the segment.
Consider this old axiom: Mascot Monday is like sex (or pizza). When it's good, it's really good, and when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

'Today', 'Good Day' In Turf War?
Today was the second straight Monday morning without a Mascot Monday at the end of the program, and the viewers, clearly, were outraged. (I got 1500 emails by 11 a.m.)
Fear not, though! A competitor has come in to join the party! You hear that, Good Day Philadelphia? Today is inchin' into your turf:

Phillie Phanatic to Appear on Today with Al Roker on Tuesday
The Phillie Phanatic will be making a special appearance on Today, as he greets weather reporter Al Roker, who will be broadcasting live from the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Tuesday, May 23, at 8:30 a.m.
We can only hope Roker and the Phanatic dance, dance, dance the morning away. Hopefully, the Good Day crowd will also be at the Art Museum steps, armed with water balloons.

There's Nothing Like A Rap Video Shot In A Cemetery
There was no real Mascot Monday today, but in the interest of fairness, I'd like to point out the fire safety rap that Good Day Philadelphia showed right before the end of today's show:
The best part by far is the namecheck of Commissioner Ayres.
