By The Time You've Read This You've Already Read It

A late-breaking update from the Inquirer brings the following news:

As of 7:40 this morning, the eastbound Admiral Wilson Boulevard was closed from the Ben Franklin Bridge tolls to Airport Circle, and westbound traffic was reduced to one lane, according to traffic.com.

Flooding is also diverting or slowing motorists on eastbound Route 30 (White Horse Pike) at the Collingswood Circle, on Atlantic Avenue in Camden near Route 676, and in both directions along Route 73 at Main Street (Route 537) in Maple Shade.

In Philadelphia, a trouble spot was 26th Street near Girard Avenue.

If you sat in traffic all morning on your way to work, you can relax in your cubicle with Philly.com and read about the traffic you sat in on your way to work.

Water, Water Everywhere

Today's Inquirer contains a list of tips about how to prepare for and stay safe during floods. Perfectly fine idea. Good idea, even. But check out the second part of tip #2:

Don't walk through flooded streets. Drowning is the No. 1 cause of flood deaths.

And here I thought it was radiation.

Blogicized: Deeper Throat

• Our buddy Will Bunch makes a good point: Why is the news media ignoring a scandal THAT INVOLVES HOOKERS?" Seriously. If I were a Washington reporter, I'd be all over it. Fun fact: This could be the second political scandal ever that involves deep throat. (Rimshot.) [Attytood]

• Enjoy the nice weather over the weekend? It's going to get a little colder now. On the plus side, it's only in the low 60s, which is almost nicer anyway. At least I get to wear my new-ish jacket. [Philadelphia Weather]

• DYK: Pennsylvania has the second-most flood insurance claims in the nation. (Behind, of course, Florida.) Yes, this is partially due to the fact that some Pennsylvania homes might as well be built right in creeks and streams. [Above Average Jane]
