Q102 DJ Apparently A Desirable Position

Ex-MTV VJ and current Q102 morning show guy (and, from the looks of it, current boy band member) Chris Booker apparently has a new woman in his life: Alycia Lane!

Yes, the New York Post finally didn’t break some Alycia Lane news; last night Michael Klein reported the two were seen together at a Chris Rock show at the Borgata last weekend. Booker, who broke off an engagement in March, said, “We went to see a show. Whoop-dee-do.” Anyway, they were also supposedly chummy at WOGL’s 20th-anniversary party. Ooh, they’ve gone to all the big events!

Klein calls them “Philadelphia’s new power couple,” which means they’re replacing, uh, I dunno, Chase and Jen Utley? This is probably a good thing for all of us, though, since Chris Booker totally looks like a dude who’d take (and then release) bikini photos. Hell, maybe he’s ALB!

Apparently Alycia Lane Has No Sense Of Humor

The New York Post is quickly becoming your number one source for Alycia Lane news and gossip. One might think the New York tabloids, having actual celebrities to report on, would be uninterested in a Philadelphia news anchor, but, uh, she sent bikini photos to Rich Eisen? Okay, I’m still a little stumped on this one.

Lane was slated to emcee Phillymag’s Best of Philly™ party last night, but it turns out the mag named her Best Pen Pal in this year’s issue, a nod to (what else) emailed bikini photos. Lane was so enraged she pulled out of hosting the event. Editor Larry Platt to Page Six: “Alycia called and told me it was a low blow and cheap shot.”

What have we learned here? Well, (1) Alycia Lane won’t be showing up at any Philadelphia Will Do gatherings anytime soon, and (2) Alycia Lane … doesn’t like jokes, I guess? Aw, forget this. I like a woman my newsanchor to laugh and understand the game. Kerri-Lee Halkett and Jennaphr Frederick rolled with the punches and said “We love D-Mac” on air. Fuck this other noise.

Update: Whoops, Dan Gross had this last week and I somehow missed it. (Sorry!) I love that Alycia Lane is making the New York gossip pages but gets second billing behind Jonesy in the AM in the Daily News. Of course, Jonesy’s book deserves to get name above the title:

The book, which also details her relationship with rapper Busta Rhymes, described as a well-endowed but selfish lover, is littered with spelling errors, mostly names, including that of “Philadelphia Mayor Shaun Street.”

Miss NJ Controversy Somehow Boring

Ahh, let’s keep updated on the ongoing Miss New Jersey Risque Pics Scandal™, the thing we’re paying attention to because it’s summer and it’s not like there’s a war going on and it’s too hot to think about real things. To recap: The current Miss New Jersey, Amy Polumbo, said last week someone had attempted to blackmail her with photos from Facebook. She wouldn’t step down as Miss NJ, because, uh, hello, it’s New Jersey.

Now Polumbo has received a second set of pictures from the blackmailer. She said she wouldn’t step down; the pageant officials and/or authorities now have the photos.

Meanwhile, suspicion has been cast on the runner-up of the Miss NJ pageant as being the one who sent the photos. She denies it, which is kind of lame; if she were the person actually blackmailing Polumbo, it would immediately re-invigorate the, uh, sport of beauty pageants, which haven’t been watched by any human being in America since 1988, except for the Little Miss Sunshine one.
