CBS 3 Miffed Its Employees Still Remember Who Alycia Lane Is

Alycia
Ha ha, apparently if your work fires your coworker you're never allowed to see that person again. Or hang out with her boyfriend, at least. Yes, CBS 3 is upset some of its on-air talent went to Chris Booker's birthday party.

Booker is, of course, the boyfriend of one Alycia Lane, who you can't possibly have forgotten by now, but, hey, who knows?

Among staffers at the party were traffic anchor Bob Kelly, reporter Todd Quinones and meteorologist Doug Kammerer. We're told that station management talked only with Kammerer, mostly for appearing in pictures on Q102's website in which he was holding drinks. While several pictures of Kammerer remain on the site, at least one was removed this morning.

Gawd. How dare we live in a world where the public is allowed to know that Doug Kammerer drinks at an Atlantic City birthday party.

Oh, yeah, Lane is still suing the station, so that could have something to do with it.

Vince Fumo Uses Emoticons From '96 :-(

040908frown.png
Earlier this week, the feds released a list of over 2,000 pieces of evidence for the upcoming trial of Vince Fumo. (Remember him?)

And, naturally, one of the pieces of evidence is an email Fumo allegedly sent to Alycia Lane. (Remember her?)

An Oct. 31, 2004, e-mail from Fumo to then-CBS 3 anchor Alycia Lane titled "We ARE Going to Win :-)"

Using an emoticon in a subject line? That's a bigger crime than buying a bunch of Oreck vacuum cleaners.

Alycia Lane Still In News, Somehow

030708alycia-wax.jpg
While it seems the Ongoing Saga of Alycia Lane has wrapped up, the New York tabloids are still writing about her. As such I've decided to write about her as well!

Lane (at right -- not her wax figure in Madame Tussauds) was recently suggested by New York Daily News TV editor Richard Huff as a replacement for some dude who left up in NYC. As such, he got a lot of hate mail for some reason:

"What was your [TV Editor] Richard Huff thinking when he recommended Alycia Lane, the disgraced former Philadelphia reporter, for Chuck Scarborough's position on Ch. 4 news?," wrote Tom Mullen, a retired member of the NYPD.

"If this is the best candidate he could come up with, maybe the N.Y. Daily News might rethink Mr. Huff's position," Mullen wrote.

Whoo! Oh man, this is the biggest Alycia Lane story since... well, okay, I basically just wanted to post that wax-like Lane photo. Also, there's no way she doesn't end up on a new TV show after her six-month penance is over.

Stern Gives Lane His Seal Of Approval

022608alycia.jpg
Alycia Lane is now a free woman, and she looks better on her left side than she does straight on. But still, she's a free woman, as Dan Gross and Michael Klein report in articles full of juicy backstory and descriptions like "demure in a black Moschino suit and matching Louboutin stilettos" (that's Klein, on Lane).

But by far the best report comes from Mighty Dan Gross, who chats it up with Howard Stern to get the King of All Media's report on Alycia Lane.

"She's hot...she has nice big titties... and is the best piece of ass Booker's ever had," Stern said of the former CBS3 anchor.. Lange chimed in that he had only met Lane for 10 seconds, but he had enough of a lasting impression that he was able to, we're paraphrasing here, fantasize about her while masturbating.

Thanks, Dan! I was wondering if Howard Stern thought Alycia Lane had big tits and if Artie Lange jerked off while thinking about her!

Oh, and Alycia Lane wants to go work for another station in Philly. Sounds good to me!

Alycia Lane On Path To Sainthood

alycialane
Oh, yea, so Alycia Lane? Remember her? No? Well, she was the center of attention on this website back just two months ago. But since I've now moved on to more interesting stories involving demons, I don't really even remember what she did anymore.

Oh, yeah, the former CBS 3 anchor allegedly punched a cop while sending bikini photos to a married man while calling somebody a "fucking dyke" on Dr. Phil. Anyway, she has a court date today in New York, and Dan Gross is up in New York covering it.

And, ta da, he reports Lane served her one day of community service already and is free to go. She just has to stay clean for six months or whatever.

The final chapter closes on Alycia Lane, and now we can just only hope Jennaphr Frederick punches a fireman or something so we have another local anchor to talk about.

Alycia Lane To Stay Out Of News?

021108objectwright.jpg
It appears the long, drawn-out saga of the pretty news anchor who allegedly punched a cop may be coming to an end.

Dan Gross reported Friday Lane's case appears headed toward a dismissal. Seems Lane's counsel has worked out a deal that if she stays out of trouble for six months, the charges will be dropped.

Lane's lawyers have agreed to an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal; you would think a millionaire wouldn't have much trouble not breaking the law for 180 days or so, but who knows. Lane's hearing is Feb. 25, which means there could be an actual chance that we won't have to hear about her for six months. (I won't count on it.)

On a side note, here's a factoid you might not know: Dan Gross and Regina Medina were the first ones to report on the arrest of Alycia Lane. The Daily News has yet to note this.

In other news, Alycia Lane somehow made Rich Eisen hire the publicity firm that works for Page Six, somehow.

Alycia's Backers Take Page From Ron Paul's

Alycia Lane's defenders have hit the Internet, and you'd think she's like Ron Paulbaro or something:

JC said:

I think that everyone needs to mind their own business and stop riding this lady. Probably most people reading this have much more to hide than her, except for the fact that no one cares about what's going on with you like they do with Miss. Lane.

InternationalGiant said:
Calling this well-educated, attractive, news person names is typical "Philly-ignorant". You probably have much more to hide than Miss. Lane, except for the fact that no cares if YOU live or die.

I can't speak for Dan Gross, but I know plenty of people want me dead.

Oppressed Minority To Sue CBS 3

013008lane.jpg
Oh, you all knew this was coming. Dan Gross reports has filed court papers against CBS 3, almost certainly a prelude to a lawsuit (or settlement) with the company.

Lane and attorney Rosen have also asked for any documents or personnel files pertaining to the firing by CBS3 of "any other anchor or reporter of Latina descent, African-American descent or the descent of any other minority group." Could Lane, dubbed the "Latina Bombshell" by the People Paper's Stu Bykofsky in 2003, be playing the race card?

Any other minority group, eh? I knew the unfair termination of Chief Halftown would come back to bite CBS 3 in the ass one day.

Lane, Booker Make Out On Dance Floor

BREAKING ALYCIA LANE NEWS MUST CREDIT PWD SIREN.GIF!!!

It appears noted Philadelphia power couple BookerLane are back in Philly and are... well, they are like 17 year sold, since they're hanging out in Manayunk. I'll let a Philadelphia Will Do I-Reporter explain via text message:

  • I'm at Grape Street Pub, No Code a Pearl Jam cover band is playing, and I'm standing in front of Chris Booker and Alycia Lane, and she hasn't hit anyone, yet
  • She drinks vodka cranberry or something equally girly
  • O, they won't stop making out, fuckers

After the jump, a Philadelphia Will Do bounty.

Alycia Lane: A Virgin At 23, Apparently

Lane
The best thing from the Phillymag's novel about the Alycia Lane saga is most certainly this factoid on the fourth page about Lane:

In fact, defending herself, she later told people that she hadn’t lost her virginity until she was 23.

Okay, so that should be what people will be talking about. There's also such a dramatic ending: "Except that person was long gone. In her place was Alycia, out with her celebrity DJ boyfriend and a powerful radio exec, wearing that expensive black designer jacket, her makeup as perfect as it always was on-air, pulling out her iPhone and snapping shots of what she must have thought was news. And then she said the words that both begin and end the story of Alycia Lane, the words that describe who she had been, and had lost, that might actually sound somewhat poetic, in the desperate way that famous last words always are." Stop! Enough, you had me until that last sentence.

Coincidentally, Andy Reid's lawyer was present for the creation of this story, too. No, really: Alycia Lane's lawyer is Andy Reid's lawyer. Nevermind then. (He's actually quoted.)

The Fallout: Alycia Lane

010808alyciahead.jpg
Here's Dan Gross and Regina Medina from the Daily News. Here's Mike Klein from the Inquirer, who reports Alycia Lane is going to sue CBS 3. Above (give it a second the video is still processing long time since YouTube is being annoying), Larry Mendte manages to not burst into ridiculous laughter when talking about Lane's departure from the station.

Me, I think this is kind of a mistake by the station. In addition to being weird to fire her for being in the news when it encouraged her to go on Dr. Phil, think how many viewers CBS 3 would have gotten for February sweeps with Alycia Lane's triumphant return? Apparently, this move will increase CBS 3's journalistic credibility. Unfortunately, the only real way for a television station to have any journalistic credibility is mass hara-kari.

Philly-Area Nerds Drop Ball

010708lanewiki.png

As of 5:17 p.m., Alycia Lane's Wikipedia page remains silent on her termination from CBS 3. Shocker!

Update: Ha ha, a Philadelphia Will Do reader edited the page! It now reads:

On January 7, 2008, Alycia Lane was fired from her job at CBS3. Lane responded by staging a hostage situation at the station, ultimately resulting in the shooting death of former co-anchor Larry Mendte. The situation is currently under investigation by area police.

Alycia Lane Takes A Fucking Hyke

ALYCIAshop
Sob! Yes, as you've no doubt already heard -- sorry, I was in a meeting! -- Alycia Lane is gone from CBS 3. Here's the statement.

After assessing the overall impact of a series of incidents resulting from judgments she has made, we have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories. We wish to make clear that we are not prejudging the outcome of the criminal case against Alycia that is pending in New York. We understand that Alycia expects to be fully vindicated in that proceeding. We hope that is the case and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors.

So, basically, she got her boobs into the news too much and so she got fired.

Alycia Lane Has A Lawyer

010708alycia.jpg
Hey, know what's a way to not lose your public job? Punching a cop and calling her a "fucking dyke"! (Obligatory: It's all alleged; Alycia Lane denies it all.)

Dan Gross reports today the identity of Alycia Lane's lawyer; Paul Rosen has been in discussions with CBS 3 since last week. He also reports the reason Lane wasn't dropped from the station last Friday was because of Rosen, so Lane is clearly already getting her money's worth.

So, yes, there is no real new Alycia Lane news, but what else am I going to write about? An anchor who didn't allegedly punch a cop? Please.

Big Alycia Lane News! Well...

010408lane.jpg
Dan Gross reports today that PhillyGossip.com exclusively reported in December on Alycia Lane's arrest! Oh, and also, today is the last day (sans weekend) of Alycia Lane's three-week vacation after allegedly punching a cop and calling her a "fucking dyke."

So, the DN gossip guru asks, Will CBS 3 announce Alycia Lane's fate today? CBS 3 says there is no new news to report, and, hell, even I was too lazy to do a new Photoshop of Lane, which we know is the real harbinger of "no news." (The bigger tits galore version is here, pervs.) But maybe Lane will get fired today in the best Friday news dump of all time.

More interestingly, a source tells Gross Lane has approached a high-powered Center City law firm about a wrongful termination suit, if she is indeed fired for her alleged transgression. She denies any cop punching or dyke-calling, so I guess we'll all just have to wait this one out and be content to write about her for increased pageviews.

Nobody Can Stop Talking About Alycia Lane

122007rendelllaneshop.jpg

Yesterday, House majority leader Sam Smith (who?) whined about Alycia Lane calling Ed Rendell after she was arrested. A day after his spokesman confirmed the call, Rendell called into 610 WIP's morning show (stay with me here) and said, naw, it was just a friend calling a friend.

Michael Klein says Mr. Smith doesn't believe Rendell and Lane's stories: "You know, he said, 'Just because she wanted somebody to listen to her.' Well, if you believe that, I got a bridge for you... I can't imagine that she called him for any other reason than to help her out."

Meanwhile, a few people fired up their bootleg copies of Photoshop and made funny graphics and now there are tons of places to buy crap; by tons of places, I mean "Cafepress."

Alycia Lane Is All Over, Everywhere

121807alyciaphotos3.jpg
It's really tough attempting to decide which of the Alycia Lane photos local news organizations are using is the greatest. Is it the 1990 high school photo? The photo the Daily News credits to some guy on Myspace? Or the one of her with Bon Jovi, which I believe was also hyped as an "exclusive" interview, even though that's about as exclusive as me.

The main story is, of course, her attempt to call Gov. Rendell after being arrested. This, of course, makes absolutely little to no sense, but, hey, maybe Eddie has power over the NYPD, too. Or maybe he just drives so fast he could post bail for her quickly. (Jon Corzine would work, too.)

Rendell spokesman Chuck Ardo confirmed the call at a specific time of 5 p.m. yesterday with this excuse: She wanted the governor to "make sure he knew her side of the story because he is an opinion-maker and runs around in influential circles." Alycia, come on! You know the person you really needed to call is me.

CBS 3's holiday special, Celebrate the Season, will air tonight, although Lane will probably be cut from it. Lane's people are denying the allegations and suddenly she's starting to look way more sympathetic than Jocelyn Kirsch to a lot of people. An Imus-like comeback? Maybe, but at least Celebrate the Season will get a healthy ratings bump.

Alycia Lane Slowing Internet To Crawl

121707alycia_lane-spam.jpg
I've had to up some of the comment settings due to the amount of Alycia Lane spam I'm getting. No, really. Alycia Lane spam!

To be exact: "alycia lane free bikini pix," the links don't lead anywhere, oddly enough. If you comment and it doesn't get posted I'll try to approve it later in the day. You can email me if there's some sort of pressing "OMG I want to get really angry about that news anchor!" comment, or you can continue searching the Internet like there's no tomorrow for Alycia Lane news.

More to come later; all this spam is slowing down my ability to post. If this whole "World Wide Web" thing finally breaks down because of her arrest, I am not going to be happy. Who knew spam came from people other than Ron Paul?

Tonight On CBS 3! (Not Alycia Lane!)

Ahh, the beauty of the first post-Alycia Lane promo (or whatever). This is from today.

CBS 3 is in a tough spot. It's good to see the station got such a scoop to keep people's minds off Alycia. If you're wondering, I'm totally sad over Ms. Lane now. Stay strong, girl.

The Alycia Lane Files

By now you've seen this at 10,000 other places, but I figured I might as well pile on. (Sorry for the delay; I've been having problems posting, of course.) Since I'm too lazy to scan in my own copy myself, here are your criminal complaints, in two easy versions.

121707lane-nyc.jpg

Philly.com's front page has your censored version (direct link) while Metro lets the fucks fly.

CBS 3 has finally reported on it: "Alycia categorically denies she made any comment, or that she struck the officer." Dan Gross says she will be edited out of CBS 3's holiday special; Lane is, right now, "on vacation" (really) until at least 2008, says Michael Klein. The Philadelphia press is going all out on this story.

Alycia Lane: The Police Report

121707postalycia.jpg
Here's a part of a deposition regarding Alycia Lane, who allegedly pulled a Jason Michaels Saturday night in New York City.

Deponent states that deponent was approaching an intoxicated male and directing said male to return to a Taxi when defendant placed a camera against deponent's face. Deponent observed officer grab defendant's arm (holding the camera) in an attempt to move it away from deponent's face. Deponent states that defendant said in substance to officer: I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHO YOU ARE I AM A REPORTER YOU FUCKING DYKE. Deponent further states that deponent observed defendant strike officer about the face. Deponent states that defendant's strike caused officer to sustain two lacerations to officer's face and caused swelling."

That actually gives the reporter thing some context. It now reads more like: I'm taking photos in my capacity as a journalist, although I don't think "I am a reporter, you fucking dyke!" is the best way to express that statement.

Alycia Lane Arrested! (Bonnie & Clyde Who?)

ALYCIA
Yes, yes! We may not get photos of Alycia Lane in a bikini, but we apparently will be getting a mugshot! That's right: Alycia Lane has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a female NYPD officer.

Daily News reporter Regina Medina is reporting exclusively that Lane, 35, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. today at the corner of W. 17th Street and 9th Avenue and later charged with one count of assault witih intent to cause physical injury to an officer, said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves. The 10th Precinct officer suffered lacerations to her face, Nieves said. Lane was also accompanied by an unidentified male, according to the NYPD report.

Also, according to a version of the complaint, Lane said to the officer: "I don't give a fuck who you are, I'm a fucking TV reporter, you fucking dyke."

CBS 3, 6 ABC In Dead Sweeps Heat (I Guess)

Alycia
Have the rumors of Alycia Lane bikini photos brought Alycia Lane and Larry Mendte -- the photos are of Alycia -- to the top of the news charts? Laura Nachman has the preliminary sweeps numbers as of Tuesday and CBS 3 trails 6 ABC by just 1 share point (whatever that is) on the 11 p.m. newscast.

Action News -- who seems to have been amping up its Erin O'Hearn commercials recently, if you've noticed -- leads in the 11 p.m. ratings with an 8 rating/16 share, while CBS 3 trails just behind with an 8 rating/15 share. (Each ratings point equals one or two old people falling asleep after the weather. Each share equals nothing.) NBC 10 has a 5 rating/10 share. (The lead-ins are important, too, with CBS beating ABC beating NBC. I'm pretty sure the Peacock doesn't even have a prime-time lineup anymore; it just runs infomercials.)

At 6 p.m., Jim Gardner (6 ABC) is way ahead with a 12 rating/22 share; Tim Lake (NBC 10) has a 4 rating/8 share and Mendte and Lane have a 4 rating/7 share. Obviously, viewers know if Alycia's going to show her bikini, it'll be at 11 p.m.
