Breaking: Fake Beach Tag Scandal

Turmoil in Surf City! No, the beach didn’t blow up, but the cops are now looking into the case of the counterfeit beach tags.

Making fake beach tags seems like an incredible waste of time, but it did lead to these two paragraphs in the Asbury Park Press so it was all worthwhile:

While on patrol yesterday, an officer uncovered the counterfeit seasonal beach badges, authorities said. The municipality has been in contact with Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the borough attorney about the situation. After the investigation is completed the department will decide if charges will be filed or not.

Police Chief William Collins said that he has reason to believe that the counterfeiting of badges could be even more serious than already revealed.

More serious than four counterfeit beach tags? Oh, man, I bet this conspiracy goes right to the president.
