Conlin Suspended From DNL For... Something

Responding to an email from Raul from Vineland, Conlin said: "Amazing that guy would leave the blueberry harvest to send that off." Oh-ho! How offensive! You see... um... well, the blueberry harvest is probably usually done in Hammonton, right? Or... hmm... okay, how about this: The people working on the blueberry harvest are usually Mexican, and to say that someone in Vineland is Mexican is offensive! (If only Anthony DiMeo were here to clear this up!) Or maybe Comcast SportsNet just wanted Conlin off the program to make it a little less watchable.
Look, Daily News Managing Editor Pat McLoone has defended him: "I've known Bill Conlin for 28 years. I know he would never say anything racist." Um, then why is he suspended?
Anyway, Neil Hartman's apology the following day was way more hilarious than Conlin's original joke. Courtesy of The Fightins, it's after the jump.
And, of course; Fight the man, Bill! You go right back on DNL when this suspension is done and you make all the jokes about blueberries you want.

To: Whoever wrote that Conlin article
You are such a dope. Of course what he said was racist or at the bare minimum racially motivated to get a giggle or more from his cohorts on the DNL set. His contention is if your name is Raul and you are from Vineland you are involved with picking blueberries since that's what he thinks hspanics due in that area. He gives Raul no credit at all for having Internet access and firing off a quick e-mail to CSN. Total disrespect and a demeaning comment which most of his comments are anyway.
The truly amazing thing is that Conlin could pull himself away from consuming large quantities of food in order to be on the DNL panel that day. -- Bob J.
