Email Of The Day
![]() |
Dear Sir/Ma'am;This is my second request for attention to this matter.
I am requesting information as to why a Stop Sign has not been placed at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Master Stret in Philadelphia, 19122.
This is a very dangerous intersection, with children and families constantly crossing at this cross-street junction between a Family Shelter and a Day Care on opposite sides of Master Street. Cars pass through this intersection very fast, and several near accidents involving pedestrians have already occurred.
This is my second request for this information.
I look forward to a speedy reply from the Streets Department.
I got this email earlier today (and only added the link to Google Maps); I shall now pass it along to you. For some reason I find it oddly hilarious.

If this was a civilized city run by competent people you would have just called 311. We have used 311 when we lived in an actual civilized city (the one that currently has a mayor who has a TV network named after him) to report all sorts of problems ranging from some guy stealing some PVC pipes (didn't seem like a 911 call, but we were transfered to a 911 dispatcher by 311) to a vandalized stop sign (fixed in less than a week) to a pothole (took about a month).
If you want a stop sign, they are about $30 a piece with the mounting equipment and pole running about the same. From the looks of the photo, you could probably mount one on a telephone pole.

If this place is so uncivilized and incompetent, why don't you leave?
Oh... you're an obnoxious asshole. Gotcha.

Wait, we're NOT supposed to ask bloggers for traffic improvements?
That explains why Goodtimes STILL hasn't fixed the one-way sign in front of my house.
