Abridged Daily News Columnists

John Baer: Uh, Mike Bloomberg for VP. Really, that's what this column is about.

Flavia Colgan: Whoa, somebody thinks HIllary Clinton should drop out! No way, I totally did not know there were people who thought that.

Stu Bykofsky: Uh-oh, Stu on animals. This could get out of control, really quick. One sec...

Okay, there's this: "Sadly, animal welfare infighting makes Shia/Sunni warfare seem like a debutante party." The rest of it is just about how all the dogs at the PACCA shelters are sick, and he annoys Michael Nutter with questions about animals, so that's kind of funny. But mainly this column is great because it has a cute kitty photo by Steven Falk.

That has to be the worst/most inappropriate hyperbole I've ever heard...

Also, you know that scene in A Christmas Story when Ralphie is writing his them on "what I want for christmas?" and in his head he keeps thinking "oh yeah, that's good! This is going to be the best theme ever!" in his head. Well I'll never think of Byko without thinking of that scene ever again...

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that whatever political disagreements exist in the animal welfare community, disagreements which involve people calling each other nasty names, are probably not remotely comparable to Muslim sectarian warfare, a disagreement which involves people killing thousands of other people.

I'm also going to guess that anyone who would make a comparison like that probably has a BOWIE KNIFE STICKING OUT OF THEIR GODDAMN SKULL.

More evidence toward my theory that there are more people concerned with the welfare of cats and dogs than there are with the welfare of actual human beings.

Isn't this what Councilman Jack Kelly got elected for?

What? we can't walk and chew bubble gum at the same time? Everything is always a zero sum game with you people. If someone wants to try and stop the killing of innocent animals than "we care more for animals than people"? It's possible to care for both dude. I do.

I must admit that sometimes I like dogs a whole lot more!

"Of all the creatures, man is the most detestable. Of the entire brood, he is the only one that possesses malice. He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot. You obviously have no idea of the politics behind animals and that the price is death.

I volunteer for PAWS but I also deliver food to people down on there luck. I collected two truckload of goods after Katrina. You will find most people in animal welfare care about and value all life.

I am curious how many people on here who complain actually volunteer any time for others. If you do thanks..if not get a real life and make a positive change in this world.
