Abridged Daily News Columnists

John Baer: Hey, Barack Obama could win Pennsylvania. Too bad there's still over 20 days 'til the election.

Ronni Polaneczky: Ahh, yes, what we really need is more people being online vigilantes and more people on Digg.

Fatmiah Ali: Oh, look, it's an "open letter" to the parents of the kids who killed that dude on the subway. Ooh, it's not even worth getting into.

Christine Flowers: Christine Flowers is already complaining the white man is being denied justice due to the dude being killed in the subway. Already! And the Daily News printed it!

Elmer Smith: I don't summarize columns that begin with quotes from Swiss philosopher Henri Amiel. Long story.

dude, that article by Flowers is reprehensible.

She openly calls for the execution of juveniles, which is hilarious and horrifying at the same time. Isn't this the same woman who shrieks about the Islamofascists coming to kill us all?

And yet her view of justice is no different from the mullahs in Iran and Saudi Arabia.

I like the feeling of juvenile executions in my anus.

HAHAHAA!

that's awesome. I hear Christine Flowers uses blood for lubricant when she masturbates to footage of Old Sparky.

A lot of deliberate misreading going on here. (And a lot of misplaced anger.)

Some focus mainly on the rights of the accused. That is fine in a democracy where the rules are set to protect the innocent. But this piece calls attention to the victim and his family and THEIR "life sentence." The wanton execution of Sean Conroy cries for justice. Read some of the letters on the opposite page for the views of most Philadelphians on this subject. Not only Christine and Fatimah but ALL of us are sick of the unprovoked violence and the callous disrespect for life implied in these attacks. We are aware that a gentle white man is dead because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and a negro wolf pack assaulted him.

Christine and Fatimah are both right to express outrage and so should we.

"The wanton execution of Sean Conroy cries for justice."

I totally agree 100%: what happened to Sean Conroy is unacceptable, and the perpetrators must be punished for their crimes and be brought to justice.

But justice does not entail waiving the Eighth Amendment and sneering at the ban on executing juveniles. THAT is what i disagree with, as well as Flowers' hysterical tone.

You didn't see me criticizing Fatimah Ali for her equally outraged column. And you didn't see me mention any of the other editorials on the topic. That's because as angry and outraged as they are, they don't wind up in La-La Land like Flowers always seems to.

I think pretty much every column that woman writes can be boiled down to "She's a witch! BURN HER!!!!"

"You didn't see me criticizing Fatimah Ali for her equally outraged column. And you didn't see me mention any of the other editorials on the topic. That's because as angry and outraged as they are, they don't wind up in La-La Land like Flowers always seems to."

You are criticizing style over substance and miss entirely the valid points made. There is no "la la land" about the deserved anger over this hideous crime. How a writer expresses that anger is up to the writer. You can agree or disagree.

But when you follow such criticism with language better left in bathroom stalls, you are calling into question your own rationality.

Excuse me, I was too busy being mad about a murder. I forgot this was a gathering around urinals. Have fun marking up the walls.
