Man Beaten To Death In Concourse
PHILADELPHIA -- Police said a man was beaten to death during a fight on a SEPTA concourse in Center City Philadelphia.
The fight occurred Wednesday afternoon on the concourse, before the turnstiles, at 13th and Market streets, police said. One adult male was taken to Jefferson University Hospital but has been pronounced dead.
Police said homicide investigators have been summoned to the scene.
Cue the outcry and anger and people saying things need to change. I'll be over here.

Ahh, it was four kids from the Philadelphia Criminal Academy who did it.
The dead guy managed the Starbucks at the Mariott just above the subway stop. They beat the living daylights out of him just after lunchtime today.

That stop had like a 7:1 homeless/addict/bum to rider ratio one time when I used it and I've tried my best to avoid it since then. They were pretty much jumping the turnstile at will to hassle riders and go through the trash cans. Nobody did a damn thing to stop it (I guess that would've been "violating their civil rights" or something).
Now I can add violent kids to the reasons not to use that station.

I did some math.
The kids are enrolled at Simon Gratz, which is a thug-factory school way up in Hunting Park. It's the same school the cop killer went who shot the cop last year and escaped to Miami.
So, at 2:45PM these kids should have still been at school. That's not enough time to get from school if it let out at 2:30 to get to Center City.
In other words, these were 50-cent thugs who were looking to go shop for sneakers at The Gallery and just happened to gang up on a defenseless white guy... for his iPod (I bet you that's what it was).
His girlfriend/spouse went to retrieve his belongings at the hospital and noticed his iPod was missing. Great!

Yeah, I live exactly one block from this stop.
It's just not a good idea to take SEPTA when schools let out, as what's happened on the BSL is now happening on the MFL.
Maybe the little rodents should have their free student transpasses revoked and be forced to pay the 85+ bucks a month to ride like the rest of us do. That could help pay for the extra cops.
