Another Day, Another Ron Paul Post
Ron Paul — the silver standard in leadership — is quite popular on the Internet. We all know this. And if you write something mean about Ron Paul, people get really upset in the comments section of your blog. They are affectionately known as “Paultards.” Some of them get legitimately upset about this title. RJ White runs a blog called The City Desk, which is described on the sidebar as “fictional urbanism.” A post about Ron Paul being uninvited by “Watson University” was spotted by a million Technorati Paul supporters and comments like these were left:
I do believe Ron Paul has a lot of support in the group that likes to be online 24/7, and the support of a decent amount of people in some places. That being said, if a lot of weird Ron Paul commenters were some sort of fake Internet stupids prank by some group, I wouldn’t be surprised. Ex-Candidate Ron Paul Dis-invited [The City Desk] |

I’m a Korean war vet (remember that bloody “police action” ordered by the U.N. — you should, our troops are STILL there). Anyhow, I’m getting a bit tired of being insulted for my support of Ron Paul — now I’m “weird”? Are you suggesting that people who want to put an end to sthe sinking of our blood and treasure into that bloody religious cesspool in and around Israel are “weird”? Or that those who don’t want to see their savings swept away by government paper are “weird”? Quite the contrary.
That’s what I don’t get, people who don’t support Ron Paul or his ideas seemed irked enough, that all they can do is type in a blog or online article that Paul Supporter’s are weird.
Sure Paul Supporters are an easy target, but I mean C’mon surely you have enough time to write about the ill effects of Amnesty for illegal aliens? Also why is it that nobody questions why we have so many permement troops in Korea or Germany….or hell Japan.
Why pick on Paul supporters, when you could be asking important questions…like why am I paying to have Marines support Japan’s local economy….or Germany’s or Hooker Hill in Soul Korea…
Couldn’t…SHOULDN’T we have these troops home helping support our economy and our citizens….I bet if you asked people in New Orleans if they would like the help…chance are they would say yes…
So enough from the AntiPaulTards, agree to disagree on who you support or do not support…but seriously see if you can get an answer to whose civil liberties and freedom were protecting in Japan, Germany, England or Korea…
All you have to do is remember how much money and aide those countries sent to us after 911…
You are surprised Americans have to comb the internet to find info on Ron Paul? Why do you think Americans have to find info on Ron Paul? Could it be because the Main Stream Media decided not to cover him long ago. Even after he broke political records. This is obvious. Perhaps you are attacked because the majority of Ron Paul articles that reach the American population are negative. In case you haven’t figured it out, The Revolution is about the American Constitution, not Ron Paul. Millions of Americans will continue this fight long after the election. It is serious business and transcends political parties. Americans want their country and their rights BACK.
The first word that comes to mind is TRUTH and the second is FACT.
Us Ron Paul supports are interested in TRUTH, that is why he draws from independents and democrats. There is a truth out there that can be seen beyond the main stream media. Merely listen to RON PAUL and the truth rings clean and clear. Real truth can be verified again and again and holds up to common sense and any other law you throw at it.
To find a fact:
It is quite simple really, the internet is our collection of ALL news and information mainstream and non mainstream. While the old method was to pick up a newspaper and read with your coffee, now we search with a click (mainly cause we don’t trust you, the msm). And the more you search the better you get at filtering out the crap. I google Ron Paul’s name in the news section (which is how I came here). As for the facts that every other candidate out there who uses to justify aggressive behavior towards the world well, don’t they seem to align with a certain group of corporations beliefs. And when you couple corporate and government beliefs as the only way all being spread through the media you get fascism. That is truth and fact and will stand no matter what anyone asleep will tell you. Our current system is FASCIST.
“I do believe Ron Paul has a lot of support in the group that likes to be online 24/7″
That’s because with all the lies and propaganda being disseminated by the Mainstream Media and “Journalist” like yourself it becomes a full time job for Ron Paul bloggers to tirelessly correct all these hit pieces. You may call that weird, I call it dedicated, loyal, and passionate.
I hear that there will be a protest rally 4:30pm tomorrow afternoon for Ron Paul supporters at the statue of Mayor Orson Winthrop (1896-1904, “The Great Abbreviator”), between Old City Hall and the City Hall Annex.

The funniest part is that a Google search for “watson university” brings up…the article you linked to. Not much else.
So it would appear that RP fanatics are frothing at the mouth over…nothing. A fictional school revoking a fictional invitation. Which is par for the course I suppose.
Yet more invective. No one thinks that being called a Paultard is a term of endearment or affection. And I doubt you mean to be affectionate when you call us weird either.
If you have a legitimate argument either for continuing the war-mongering and saber-rattling or for the continued debasing of the currency then make it, for heaven’s sake. But where do you people get off thinking that we shouldn’t get angry if the best you can do is call us names?
It’s interesting - I think you folks genuinely think that you are just sane, normal folks with common sense and that you are just describing the facts when you call small-government supporters by nasty names. You seem completely incapable of stepping outside your preset mentality - I think you really believe that debasing the currency is a perfectly fine long-term means of stimulating the economy. Talk about drinking the kool-aid.
I’ve concluded the reason you can do so is because the problem may not come to fruition for thirty to forty years (current projections for medicaid and medicare bankruptcy and the dissolution of the current social security system). And of course it is always conceivable (however unlikely) that the economy will grow sufficiently to offset the current deficit spending. But it seems that as long as you don’t see the wolf directly at your door you seem to think that it is paranoid to be concerned about wolves.
Ugh.. these people totally missed your point. Maybe you’re right - maybe it’s actually some bot or group going around around spamming crazy talk comments on any blog that mentions Paul.
“They are affectionately known as ‘Paultards.’” Yeah, about like African-Americans are affectionately known as “n****rs”. The fact that you and any other braindead wit on the Internet can use the word with impunity is just another example of how prejudiced “political correctness” and our media is.
Oh, and in defense of the apparent over-reaction to criticism that we “Pau****ds” display, I agree that a lot of it could be the product of agents provocateur posing as Ron Paul supporters. It could also be the result of relentless insults and militant ignorance displayed by mainstream media and their sycophantic bloggers. For example, referring to the very effective smear campaign to label the Ron Paul movement a cult, one recent author explained, “It worked because, for Paul’s supporters, the argument was an inescapable trap. The only way to spread the message of their underdog candidate was to evangelize. The more they fought against the zealot label, the more zealous they seemed. The more they tried to point out the “Paul Blackout”, the more paranoid they sounded.” Yep, in the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is in for one heck of a rough ride.

The biggest worry is that since all these Paultards are still frothing even with the GOP primary race long lost, the only way they’ll ever throw in the white flag is to shoot up a building.
And I’m only half-joking.
Trolling for Paultards –
great post idea? or greatest post idea?
The fun part of all of this is that a lot of us don’t really post comments any more. We got tired of being mercilessly mocked by brainwashed sheep. Not everyone who disagrees with us is such, mind you… it IS possible to argue a point without mocking the presenter of said point… just most prefer to use ‘affectionate’ nicknames like, say, “Paultards” or “Whackos” while explaining that we are fools. We cannot POSSIBLY have minds, after all…we believe differently than you!
That is quite alright, kids. As the Doc said once to Mitt Romney in a debate, “Make fun, buddy.” Just ponder this for a moment, if you will: while we are on COMPUTERS commenting on derogatory posts concerning our philosophy, we’re not out on the streets. It’s quite simple to call someone a name on the internet… outside of the house, it might result in… unpleasantness.
Thanks for driving us back outside, naysayers. Please, feel free to mock us to our faces as you would on the internet. Leave nothing out! Have fun!
To be fair, though, you might check on the average “Paultard’s” belief on the 2nd amendment first. Or don’t! That makes life more exciting!
The sun sucks. Cheers.
D-Mac doesn’t understand economic issues, so he likes to make fun. This is OKAY as it is a natural childish defense mechanism.
…I just had a crazy thought that Philadelphia weekly would hire adults.
Huck,
We didn’t miss the point. I think you re-made the real point with your comment about “spamming crazy talk”. Same old, same old. So in addition to be weird and Paultards the comments are spamming crazy talk.
It gets old.
Weird? Let’s just throw any kind of grown-up rationale or mature debate, like adults, out the window, eh? Let’s just take the gloves off, step outside and duke it out, right? High-school name calling is quite the “in” thing to do on the internet and in America, it’s also another story when it’s a face-to-face discussion. Quite frankly, all my debates have been quite cordial in the real world. It’s the “internets” where people suddenly grow some pseudo cyber-balls and a pair of adolescent horns.
Thanks, Daniel McQuade for being so “grown-up”. You make a fine example for papers like Agitprop. May your Pulizter Prize in Yellow Journalism serve you well.
Nice graphic jackass, SAYS GOLD STANDARD
photoshop jerk
It’s true you found us out we are weird, we don’t want a welfare state, we don’t want to police the world, we don’t want to steal from other people to pay for us or other people stealing from us to pay for entitlements, we don’t want preemptive war, we don’t want any more soldiers being killed for oil, its so weird! It is weird to think there are still people that care about our country, you are correct sir, we are weird, kudos to you.
This is great/funny. The effects of Dr. Paul’s message are quite visible now. I used to be a tireless commenter on various blogs; always defending my positions and ideas as clearly and objectively as possible so as NOT to be marginalized as a “paultard”.
Nowadays, I comment less (not for lack of motivation). Nowadays, I find myself READING the comments more than I write them. Nowadays, I read and find myself defending less and agreeing more. Its not just funny anymore, its educational.
When I read opinion pieces like this I find it common place that the COMMENTS are written better than the article itself. The comment section on this article alone is visible proof that not only are RP supporters well educated and well informed, but there are more everyday……and that gives me hope for our country.
From the comment sections alone, the stark contrast of educated opinions is shocking. I would wager that there are more FACTS in the comment section of this piece than in the article itself. FURTHERMORE, I would go so far as to say ANY of us “paultards” would pick apart any political argument that the writer of this article could come up with! I have yet to meet anyone who supported another candidate explain to me how their candidates policies would work better than Dr. Paul’s.
in all honesty, and in my most humble opinion, the supporters of Dr. Paul are the sane one’s in this country. Its the other folks that scare me……….

Well, good for you.
At some point you realized your Blog would get hits, if you mentioned Ron Paul. I hope you sell more ads now.
The funny thing is the Ron Paul supporters seem to read more then the other presidential supporters. I wonder if a newspaper took a poll and posted it on the last page of who you are voting for, whom would win? Probably RP because he is actually the politically educated candadate of choice. I mean com’on almost half the country supports Obama, which hasn’t given a plan for anything or explained any logic, plus if people took the time to look at his voting record they would find he is a freshman Democrat which votes straight down the party line. Oh noes but he is for Change right? I laugh at this article even though their are idiots that support Paul, but I believe their are alot more idiots voting for other people. Also a republican is not even going to win the republican nomination (McCain). Long live media controlled democracy…
*Sarcasm* Obama for Change 2008.
You know whats funny, the signs should say 2009, I didn’t know someone was going to be in office by 2008?

We (the Ron Paul supporters, “small l” libertarians, and freedom fighters) need to have more centralized locations to discuss the freedom movement, politics, and the future. Join long time libertarian and freedom fighter Jacob Witmer at his blog at http://jcwitmer.blogspot.com/ and be a part of the discussion!
I think the thing is, after you keep getting called crazy, racist, fascist, communist, terrorist, or whatever else, when all you are trying to do is work for positive change and can see the country going down a troublesome path, you get pretty defensive after awhile. And the reason so many paul supporters leave comments is because people post links to news articles on online forums like ronpaulforums.com or dailypaul.com

I am a Korean-American that served 6+ years in the US Army and have been stationed in S. Korea for 3 years. It is amazing that we still have troops stationed there when S. Korea has enough troops and weapons to protect itself or hold on till the reinforcement arrives. So I do believe Ron Paul is right in this case in pointing out that we should at least bring the troops home from this part of the World.
Just want to add another comment, we have Oboma and clinton talking about giving healthcare to everyone in this nation and also McCain talking about staying in the middleeast for 100 + years, but I have not heard once from any of them explainging how we are going to paid for this? I thought the US was in the hack for $7+ trillion or $70+ trillion if you add SSN and Medicare. DO THE MATH!!!

As for spammers- look above at the Ron Paul critics for a classic example- repetative name-calling, third-grader debate strategy when logical viewpoints fail to materialize.
Using a term modified from a slur on people with disabilities for God’s sake.
This perhaps shows why the “mainstream” political process of “watch tv- vote for tv candidates” has brought this nation the choice “leadership” and the level of disatisfaction they have earned.
Go get spoonfed by FOX and CNN if you insist- but be careful what you wish for- Republicans got their wish re-electing Bush; Democrats got their wish at mid-terms.
I poured a ton of money into Romney’s campaign because he seemed easily the most competent of the Big 3 Republican contenders. Upon his withdrawal, however, I had to start my research from scratch, though I was leaning towards Obama.
One thing that piqued my interest while checking out the candidates was the statistic that Ron Paul has more active duty military members supporting him than any other candidate — by HUGE margins. Yet he wants us out of Iraq now.
Why are most of the people who are at the pointy end of the sword, who are generally traditional Republicans, agreeing with Ron Paul — as opposed to the traditional Republican contenders…? If wanting out of the war is their only issue, why do they prefer Paul to Obama, say, who also wants out…? What do they know about the dynamics over there that we don’t…?
Learning the answers has been an interesting journey, beginning with Ahmed Rashid’s 2000 book “Taliban” and ending with my committed support of Ron Paul. Reality is what it is, but perhaps my write-in vote will not all be for naught. It is post-election data that gives those plaintive voices in the wilderness the impetus they need to carry on.
The nation is in a 9 trillion-dollar debt. We no longer have our Civil Liberties. The goverment pays interest to a private bank just to issue currency to it’s own people, does nothing about it, then taxes a third of what we work for. Then, because they print money out of thin air, we deal wtih inflation, then pay a tax for paying for inflated prices. Ha, and RP supporters are tards and crackpots because we see all that.
I simply do not understand. I just don’t get it. Like other have stated

Well, heck. If name-calling is okay in this forum I trust it is proper for me to refer to this author as a brainless fucktard. Whatever.
We will not go away and we will take back our country.

For all of you making fun of Ron Paul supporters, such as myself, by calling us “Paultards”, do you understand how demeaning this statement is?
You are saying that Ron Paul supporters are retarded. So, basically you are making fun of people with a disability. That takes a lot of guts to pick on a group of people who generally don’t choose to fight back.
I’m sure you were the same people in the 1970’s (maybe still today) who make fun of black people by calling them the N word.
Do you refer to Obama supporters as “Obamaggers”?
Hopefully, some day you will see value in humans who might be a little different than you.
I am a father of a precious 13 year old girl with down syndrome and am very offended by the ignorance of seemingly intelligent people who need to denegrate by calling someone else ‘retarded’ because they hold a different view or are clumsy.
God Bless.
This is the last time I’ll use the term Paultard simply to ask you to stop, if you are a Ron Paul supporter. Why would you want to lend any momentum to a derogatory concept?
But if you are against Ron Paul and his supporters, by all means go ahead and keep on using it. It simply illustrates that you feel threatend by us, and that you have no logical case to state, no other ammo to use, no maturity. All you can do is resort to playground tactics.

As another poster commented earlier, I too have found myself posting less to the blogs. It is mainly because the quality of the writing against Paul has gone down dramatically. The “serious” (read, institutional) writers are less inclined to find any good meat against Paul’s positions. I think many of the institutional writers are looking at the mess that has been wrought over the years (inflation, globalism, endless warfare, NAFTA, borders out of control, and so forth), and the candidates we’re left with, and are having a hard time trying to intellectualize the campaign debate. Maybe this serves the American people, who knows? The intellectual arguments in this campaign are largely over in the mainstream, since Paul has been blacked out. I suspect there are lots of Paul supporters out there among the media, but they don’t have the courage to tackle the issues or go against the goals of their editors. One cannot simply look at McCain and Clinton and think of one serious thought or argument. Both are simply actors, playthings for the oligarchy, sent to us by elitists who don’t want to lose their money.
Now, the Paul supporters, and others who are interested in a campaign of issues, are left to read this tripe. Writer, you are boring me. Go back and watch the TV news.

Yes, I had to interject my 2 gold backed cents. As pointed in an earlier comment, the comments are far more intelligent than the article. Maybe some of us hope that someone might benefit from what we write. The author of this piece didn’t really have anything useful to say, except some gold standard joke, which is so frequently used out of context. Apparently he has not heard of Liberty Dollar (illegally raided by the FED) or other forms of inflation resistant competing currencies in use around the world. Why is the FED even allowed to exist? Why are we always at War? If our CIA and other agencies are so good, how come they seem to be doing so poorly? Why do you keep taking away our rights? -These are the questions we should be asking our politicians, not where they get their suit or haircut, or how much of a rebate check am I getting. America needs to wake up, and Ron Paul’s message has let a lot of people know they were not alone. We simply can’t understand how you could support anyone else. And as for 24/7 online, just another childish media dig, as we of course are greater in number than you wish to admit, I haven’t posted anywhere in a week.
You wanna know who the real weirdies are? People who copy and paste “Paultard.” We won’t see you critique their weirdness, now, will we? I read a lot of really good, and well-reasoned posts, yet it seems the odd ones are singled out and then you rub all of our noses in it like its our doings. The Obamatards are afraid people might realize that his idea of “change” is very different than the change Americans are really wanting.
Another hit piece nothing new.

MCCAIN 2008! Everything is fine! Money with backing is bad! War is fun! 100 more years of killing brown people is what God would want!
-cough-
Seriously, chill with the playground attacks. Try debating issues, as this is what actually contributes to such horrid detriments of the human mind like education and learning. For God’s sake, whether you agree or disagree with Dr. Paul’s stances on the proper role of government, try discussing your ideas and your reasoning as to why you feel as you do. Be nice… disagreement doesn’t HAVE to be ugly.
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. That’s in the Bible, and despite one’s religious beliefs, it is probably one of the wisest platitudes ever written… being such, it only makes sense that the majority of folks in today’s society fail to understand and/or follow such a simple directive.
See you on the playground, kids. I’ll be the one with the bat. :)
Cheers.
Another mindless blurb from a nameless author. Sir, how would you feel if I called you retarded? And you wonder why people are upset.
Well, I will call you retarded. Your education has been so retarded that you are unable to see the value in the U.S. Constitution and that is a deep shame. You are so retarded in your development that you are unable to know when you are being stolen from, how to combat that stealing, or how to protect yourself or your family. That is very very sad.
No, it is not the Paul supporters that are weird, it is the majority of Americans who would rather watch American Idol than fix one thing that will help them eat from day to day.
The country is crashing. Are you all blind? Do you think the dollar falling, oil rising, gold at all time highs are a sign of strong economy? Do you know how to measure a strong economy?
