Make Fun Of Ron Paul And Get Fired From Your Job
![]() |
What you are allowing is unprofessional. Ron Paul is a presidential candidate. I remember the day JFK was killed. I remember the day MLK was killed. I remember the day RFK was killed. I remember the day George Wallace was shot. I remember the day Ronald Reagan was shot. I remember the day Jerry Ford was almost shot. I am sure there is a Philadelphia way to deal with idiots like Daniel McQuade but in the mean time I feel terminating his position would be enough. If something happens to a Presidential Candidate, the blood will be on your hands and I will point out to the media you had the chance to take the article down or change it and ANTHONY CLIFTON chose not to.
Apparently, telling jokes about and linking to a report about Ron Paul possibly being assassinated by a pot of neo-conservatives is a horrible capital offense or something and I should be fired. And maybe be killed, too? I dunno. Hooray for the Internet!

Heh, those interwebs. Don't let the freak crowd get you down. Not every Paul supporter is a rabid moron.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some extremist actions to plan. :P

Regardless of the responses you received, it is still an irresponsible comment to make.
...hardly a joking matter.

I don't get it. Did Dmac actually call for the assassination of Ron Paul? Or just link to some other places that say there is a plot to assassinate Ron Paul?
From my reading, he just pointed out that other people are saying it. He's not actually endorsing it. What the hell is wrong with you people?

D-Mac, you got twisted this Christmas. First, you beat a dead horse on Christmas day for reasons only your shrink will know. Now, you're beating on another dead horse who is nowhere near as smart as Barbaro.
I sent your editor an email today, too, but I just asked one question - Are you folks out of your mind? No reply is needed.
Posted by: BernieOHare at December 26, 2007 06:43 PM
EastChestnut: POST OF THE MONTH!
As for Ron Paul, I love how he calls for small government, yet thinks that instead of fighting the Civil War to bring the South back and end slavery, the GOVERNMENT should have BOUGHT the slaves freedom. HUH? And how does that end slavery? So, some plantation owner sells his slave to the government, then buys more slaves with the money.
Yeah, that makes sense!
Posted by: Double D at December 26, 2007 06:46 PM
This comment is for Bernie O'Hare:
I don't know if buying all the slaves would have prevented the Civil War since that is not the only reason it was fought. However, I just want to say that you are wrong about a slave owner purchasing more slaves with the money that the U.S. government would give when it buys the slave. In 1807 an Act of Congress forbid the importation of slaves from outside the United States. So in essence the only slaves that could exist in the U.S. were current slaves and their children. So if every current slave was purchased at once, and freed, there would be no more slaves to buy ever again (since it was the law that the children of free persons - including freed slaves - would be free people also).

My mistake, I meant that my comment was for Double D.

It doesn't even take a government conspiracy to take down a politician who doesn't play by the rules.

Dear Mr. McQuade,
I'm sorry that American politics have made you so bitter that you accept political assasinations as a matter of course. If people lose hope, they lose part of their soul and I can guarantee that if anything happens to Dr. Paul, you'll feel terrible about writing this column. Dr. Paul represents hope and change for alot of people - people who love America - and especially freedom of speech - and would probably defend your right to say whatever you want in your column. But please think about your words carefully before you joke about the (probably very real) threat of assasination that Ron Paul has to deal with.
Signed,
Canada

If you had written the same thing about Bush being assasinated, you would be investigated by the FBI for "making a terrorist threat." Under a Ron Paul administration, you would be free to say what you want. So, don't make fun of Ron Paul too much -- he's the number one supporter of the Constitution -- including freedom of the press -- among all the presidential candidates of both parties. He's a first amendment absolutist. Still, Dr. Paul is presenting such a powerful challenge to the political status quo that a lot of his supporters, including myself, are fearful that he could be an assassination target, perhaps by elements, rogue or otherwise, within the federal government. So, while you may have thought you were joking, it's quite possible that you were getting a little too close to the truth.
In a much lighter vein: For a funny satire on the president, the mainstream media, and the war on terror, see the new music video on YouTube -- an excerpt from the international award-winning zombie musical feature film, "Song of the Dead." In it, horror movie veteran, Reggie Bannister (Wishmaster, Phantasm, Bubba Ho-tep) plays the President of the U.S. The filmmaker, Chip Gubera, is giving a share of his sales from the film to the Ron Paul campaign. D-Mac says, "Whaaaa! These Ron Paul supporters tried to get me fired for an unprofessional, inhumane attempt at humor." You, sir, are a hack! I hope your attempt to increase page hits for your article by invoking Dr. Paul's name worked out nicely. Next time label your flippant idiocy as "satire"!
Posted by: Kenz at December 26, 2007 08:45 PM
DMac, these people obviously don't have a sense of humor. Obviously, the military-industrial complex (MIC) won't assassinate Dr. Paul just because Dr. Paul will stop the MIC from taking trillions of dollars out of the taxpayers' pockets. And who cares whether Dr. Paul saves the country from going bankrupt, or restores freedom in United States. The founders didn't believe that our Republic would last very long, anyway.

I think that just bring up the subject of anyone being assassinated show ignorance beyond what is expectable in this day and age. How anyone in the fourth estate could not realize that they could bring about great harm to someone by planting the thought in some misguided souls head is beyond rational thought. It's short of a criminal act. Firing this person is letting them off easy. Someone should write a story stating that he is giving away money and post his cell phone # and home address.

D-Mac should immediately be investigated under the auspices of the Patriot Act. He should be arrested. He claims to be joking, but it could be that he was encouraging someone to carry out an assassination. His habeas corpus should be suspended and he should be water-boarded until unconscious. Then he should be renditioned to a secret prison. Why? Because he treated lightly, the idea of assassinating the only candidate who is committed to preventing what I just recommended should be done to the author.

Kenz says, "Next time label your flippant idiocy as 'satire'!"
Del says, "if you need satire to be labeled to recognize it, as you have clearly failed to recognize this entire website as such, you're too stupid to use words like satire."
Del also says, "if you don't know basic elementary school grammar rules like the fact that the exclamation point goes inside the quotation marks, it's highly unlikely you know what the word satire means in the first place."
Del further goes on to say, "spelling and grammar count, and only stupid people say they don't."

Your original post was tasteless. Further, I agree that it is dangerous and possibly illegal to incite others to commit a crime and assassinate a politician. What is it about Freedom and the Constitution that you don't want?

Posted by: RPP at December 27, 2007 09:43 AM
I have to say…. It is a shame that this has not been used for more constructive means. I ran across this post while going through alerts. There are many more tragic events going on in the US than a few bad words. There will always be ones with a different opinion and ones who waste time replying nonsense. If in fact you are a Ron Paul supporter than you should take the time to show your support by other means such as what he stands for that makes a difference in your life.
Having said that I did write Ron Paul personally just to see where he stood in my cause and His response was so lame I deleted it he said that he had to be careful as to what he supported and directed me to his site, which I had already viewed before writing. So the 2 questions I had were...Is it not a worthy cause? and if the government can’t support such a thing what the heck are they there for? Personally I feel he didn’t take the time to view the information or he would have realized the bill was a wish list for families who have lost a family member at work not a bill or litigation.
As far as candidates go I am disappointed in all of them. I would love to hear a few straight shots and not the screwed up messes the opponent has made. It would be nice to find someone who doesn’t hand you a line of sh*t and just tells it like it is; quit playing games. I would rather hear something I don’t like than the run around. At the very least they would gain some much needed respect.

why do like half the ron paul fans post their incredibly boring shit three or four times? are they actually retarded, or do they just seem that way?

Seems like trying to get someone fired for something you didn't like reading runs totally contrary to the Libertarian values you folks like to spam everyone with. It also seems to run contrary to the first amendment, part of that Constitution that Ron Paul likes to mention now and then.
Posted by: friendlynerd at December 27, 2007 02:08 PM
My comment is for friendlynerd:
Just for the record, the 1st Amendment does not prohibit individuals or organizations from trying to restrict speech - it only applies to governmental restriction of speech. That being said, I do think that trying to get someone fired for writing something that one doesn't agree with seems to be going a bit far - but not all Ron Paul supporters are libertarians, even Ron Paul isn't 100% in line with libertarian goals (his immigration policy for example).
