I have read real journalist's reports of 4,000 plus at the Philly rally. Pretending two people in costume represented the majority, as the rest of this, uh, piece did demonstrates a silly attempt at smear.

I think that we will be very much surprised by the turnout for Ron Paul in the primary elections. I doubt that it's due as much to sinister bias as to the rapid changes in information and communication technologies that are outpacing the election cycle period. Regardless, Dr. Paul's campaign seems to be building up a formidable head of steam.
Even though many who are considering support of Ron Paul's platform take issue with one or more of his stated positions, the overriding appeal of a Paul presidency is that it will a) send a powerful signal to both of the major parties that we seriously want a leaner, more constitutional federal government, b) create a more realistic check and balance between the presidency and Congress, and c) encourage young people who aspire to politics to want to follow Paul's very principled, incorruptible governing philosophy.

I'm not sold on Dr. Paul completely but I wish people would argue him on the issues rather than attempting to minimalize him.

He proposes returning to the gold standard so that money's value is based on something. Tell me why thats a bad thing?

I went to the Ron Paul rally out of curiosity. I've never seen more people smoking in one place since before the city's indoor smoking ban went into effect. The writer of this article is disrespectful and inaccurate in stating that the 5,000 people were just cheering for an 'old doctor' in comic book fashion.

I've learned two things about libertarians.

1. They are Republicans who got caught up in smoking weed at some point so they've lost the fire to get insulted by homosexuals and other Republican-classified persona non grata.

That said, I am a Democrat IN FAVOR of making a bong out of a rifle, so I can relate a bit.

How pathetic, and all this time I thought 'journalists' were supposed to report the news, not use their personal opinions to create it. Nobody cares about your lame opinion - you get one vote on election day just like the rest of us.

If you are going to disagree with a candidate, instead of smear tactic which in the end will make YOU look like a fool and typical person who resort with ad hominem attack, you may just want to check your sources first and make sure your opinion is based on facts and solid evidence, not just some nonsensical blabber you make up as you go along.

1. You fail to mention in the sensationalized Rosa Park vote to make Ron Paul look like some unsympathetic racist, that in fact the vote wasn't against Ms. parks, which he said to CNN was a difficult one for him to vote against since he admire and supports civil obedience in general, AND that he had asked his colleges at Congress to all chip in $100 for the medal, BUT the vote was against forcing tax payers to pay for it. Get your facts straight idiot.

2. On the other issues where you try to paint some sort of monster of Ron Paul you do realize that his stance against Department of Education isn’t necessarily because her personally feels that way, but because he doesn’t think the Government is authorized by the Constitution to support such departments and programs. But that wouldn’t go over well in your humorless attempt to distort whom Ron Paul is.

3. You obviously don’t seem to have a clue about economics. Right now the Private FED is printing money out of thin air BUT charge an interest that can NEVER be paid back to the people. That’s like you loaning yourself $100 and charging yourself $10 in interest. How do you pay back $110 with only $100? You don’t except to go into debt that cannot be paid back.

Wonder what you yourself have in your closet that would make you write such a bias piece of junk. Well, you have to sleep at night. Think about if someone did this to you..

That was a pretty shameful post. Why don't you actually research Ron Paul's votes and his reasons....or better yet, just open up the constitution and read that and you'll get most of your answers. Oh, and he offered to spend his own money, not the tax payers', to mint the Rosa park medal.

I've been reading your blog for a few months, now, (for no good reason really...I live in Boston, but I'm regularly entertained by what's happening in PA) and also, happen to be a Ron Paul supporter.

Just wanted to say, some of us are both passionate and balanced :)

1. Ron Paul has a large number of web surfing supporters. We like to read (gasp!) and blog. We like to comment on stories or blogs that have that functionality. We are very active. THAT IS NOT SPAMMING. Spamming is sending out mass communication without regard to the recipients. A large group of like minded people all doing the same thing is called a MOVEMENT or a REVOLUTION.

2. I think you will find that there are more Paul supporters that actually know where Dr Paul stands on the issues than there are for most of the other candidates. On the contrary, it is his detractors that make the crazy statements based on something they heard on some blog or mainstream media outlet. One lady was going on about how Ron Paul wanted us to have to do all of our financial transactions in gold. Does she have any idea how much gold is an ounce (probably not). You'd be buying your twinkies with specs.

3. I'm sorry if you ran into Paul supporters that are intolerant of others' beliefs. The majority of us are libertarian and believe that everyone should have the freedom to believe what they want. The correct response of a Paul supporter to someone who says he is crazy should be: "That's an interesting statement. I think you may have been misinformed about his platform. I really do encourage you to go to http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/ and see where you and he might actually agree."

I haven't counted, but I'm pretty sure that there are more than 10 supporters who've responded to this one poorly-written article. There were 3,000+ of them on Independence Mall on that gray day in November. And however many there are, they've donated $18.4 million since the beginning of October.

I love seeing pics of Ron Paul supporters, you don't see that with other presidential candidates followers or at least not in these numbers that we have been seeing.
