City Gives State The Middle Finger
![]() |
Some have said the move is a way to gain votes -- duh, it is -- but that doesn't mean City Council isn't sincere. And it doesn't mean it's wrong to tell the state to fuck off every once in a while.
Actually, no matter your stance on gun laws, the citizens of Philadelphia should praise this new law. For too long Pennsylvania has... uh... well, I dunno what it's done. But, c'mon! This is pissing off the rest of the state. That's something all Philadelphians can agree is a good thing to do.
Plus, while the government in Harrisburg is figuring out a way to challenge these Philly laws, they can't do any damage anywhere else.

It's called straw buying, it is a problem. Illegal hand guns that show up in this city were often legally bought in bulk outside the city limits, or one of the many completely unregulated gun shows throughout our fine state. To end, you are crazy, and I hope you're getting your moneys worth out your three bargin bin rifles. I'm sure you really need them for whatever people buy three rifles for, like fortifying their house against ATF agents.

Even your city government members should follow the law. More than that, they should set the example in obeying the law - but instead they are showing contempt for law and becoming criminal in nature themselves. Shame on them.
As far as the new laws which include the limit on buying only one gun per month - common sense should lead readers to understand how ridiculous such as measure is. Criminals don't buy the guns legally, and will therefore be unaffected. If criminals aren't affected by the law then why make such a law?
In addition there are legitimage reasons for some to buy more than one in a given month. For instance I just bought 3 rifles last month - simply because I found 3 deals too good to pass up all at the same time. I might go a year before I buy another. The point being that a limit imposed on the law abiding will not affect crime, but will affect honest law abiding citizens.
