Two Losers Join Forces
![]() |
The successful used car dealer and terrible Eagles owner -- the players were so poor they had to take the Broad Street Subway to games -- has joined team Rudy to recruit old people in Florida to vote for the former NYC Mayor.
From the press release:
“I have known Rudy Giuliani for 27 years and have admired his public service record throughout those years. His extraordinary leadership in the aftermath of September 11th is only one example of many that qualify him to be our next president,” Braman said.
I wonder if there's a Rudy Giuliani press release that doesn't mention 9/11. Nah.
Full release after the jump.
Norman Braman Joins Team RudyNew York City – The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee announced today that former Philadelphia Eagles owner and prominent Florida businessman Norman Braman will join Team Rudy. For over thirty years, Braman has led successful businesses in Florida, managed a wide variety of philanthropic activities and been active in the Jewish community.
“I have known Rudy Giuliani for 27 years and have admired his public service record throughout those years. His extraordinary leadership in the aftermath of September 11th is only one example of many that qualify him to be our next president,” Braman said.
Braman is one of the original founders and for over 20 years served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Miami Beach Holocaust Memorial. He has served as Campaign Chair of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and was appointed by President Reagan to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Braman is also on the board of directors of various community and civic organizations and is Vice Chairman of the University of Miami Board of Trustees. In 1995, Braman established the Braman Family Foundation, whose annual awards and grants support causes such as the University of Miami Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute. Braman was the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles football team from 1985 to 1994.
“Mr. Braman is a welcome addition to an expanding Florida team that demonstrates the strength of the Mayor’s campaign,” campaign manager Mike DuHaime said.

Yeah. Braman's a huge loser. He's only spectacularly succeeded at four businesses. And only losers give gobs of money to breast cancer research and head up three different holocaust memorial organizations.

Uh oh, Dan. Better hope Braman the Winner doesn't buy PW.

Seeing how he has a world-class art collection and also is a patron of The Cleveland Orchestra in Miami, PW may be a little low-brow for him.

Rudy Guiliani's presidential bid is doomed. If he is somehow able to capture the Republican nomination it will be the worst possible thing that could happen to the Republican party. The party would split right down the middle in the general elections because conservatives like myself will never vote for Rudy. Rudy has supported partial birth abortion, government funding of abortion, gun control, and the gay rights agenda. So, if Rudy is nominated many conservative Republican's will leave the party and instead support a conservative third party candidate. In a such a three way race the Republican party will be certain to lose.

Daniel:
It appears you are subscribing to the conventional wisdom, which has proved faulty. Social conservatives will abandon Giuliani, you say.
Well, polling indicates that this early in the cycle social conservatives know more about the candidates than everyone else. And Hizzoner is polling very well. So I don't know what evidence you have to back up your assertion. If you have some, share it with me at my RudyBlog. At the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference, which is comprised of the most conservative activists in the state, Rudy led all declared presidential candidates, only beaten by Fred Thompson.
As for the general, Hillary would drive every barely right of center voter to the polls to vote against her. Her negatives are spectacularly high. Obama's record is even farther left than hers.
I am in a minority that I actually think Edwards has the best chance in a general. But if Rudy can put PA, CA, NJ, and MN in play, even Edwards would have a tough time beating Giuliani.
Your gut may be telling you one thing, although I suggest Giuliani is the most genuinely conservative top tier candidate in the race. But all actual indicators show your gut is not typical.

Oh my God... I never realized how funny Norman really was until now! Truly, every woman in North America will vote and they will all be voting for Hilary! Good luck to you out numbered men!

If that dope mayor of New Orleans had half of Guiliani's leadership, the city would have been better off.
