Milton Street's 'American Idol' Audition
This, my friends, is the mayor's brother. Singing. At a rally for his mayoral candidacy.
Milton Street, you are my hero.
Update: I must also report how much I really, really love this line: "I stand accused of doing some wrong things, but I don't stand convicted. But in America, the presumption of innocence always prevails -- until one is found guilty."
Update 2: For those wondering about the casket, it was donated by a funeral home director -- who was there, of course -- and was representing the number of murders in Philadelphia so far this year.

Does anyone really take this guy seriously? There was practically nobody there. He makes John Street seem riveting, intelligent, and charismatic.

There have been several comments on this post and the other one of people saying they were there. I totally should have had some sort of party. I mean, even if two of the random people there were from this site, that's like 33% of the non-media crowd!

Oh, and I'm fairly sure the "WHOO" at the end of the video, after the song -- as opposed to the one from the kid with the "Got Milt?" sign earlier -- is from me.

I went down because I wasn't missing the spectacle. I was in the "heckling white man crowd" that was laughing out loud when Uncle Milty was talking about deputizing citizens. When that guy screamed "You're going to jail, Milt!" he turned, saw us smiling and pointed at us saying we were heckling him. Hell No! In my opinion, if there's good, free, lunchtime theatre available, you go!!!!

I was there! It was the BEST!!! I'm just sorry that I forgot to bring my tailgating cooler.
The best was the whole piano bar theme - what? oh, I'm sorry, that was a CASKET he was casually draped over, while crooning like some long forgotten evangalist?

I was there.
There were more media folks than spectators.
O how they crowded around Larry West, mohawk atop head, Guns 'N Roses jacket wearing dude carrying the sign, 'Stop Milton Street'. Now THAT was funny, and just a little pathetic.
But Milton was riveting!
There will not be a more entertaining political rally during the Mayor race, I predict.

I know in my heart that Mr. Milton Street can do whatever he wants to do let the public office run in the family from Mayor Bill green & his son to Mayor Street & his son give Milton a chance to make some changes for the City Of Philadelphia.

this was one of the most bizarre spectacles i have ever seen.
milton threw so many gems out there i lost count. he seemed to ramble from one idea to the next without any coheren thoughts in between.
the best statement might have been, "i'm pregnant with ideas" which he followed up with by asking the crowd for more ideas
