White Catholic Guys Finally Get Their Chance To Shine

041906santorum.jpg As noted by a reader who forwarded this to us, "Guess it's a good week for impersonators." And why not? Nothing says "Springtime" like "Doing a derisive impression of a public figure."

Yesterday there was a Craigslist ad calling for someone who looked and sounded like Charlie Manuel.

And today, well, there's a contest looking for a Rick Santorum impersonator. Since Rick Santorum looks pretty much like every other Catholic white guy with black hair, I'm sure this search will go a little better than the Charlie Manuel one.

Sorry to go all Phillyist on you, but here's how to enter: You have to do a 30 second-to-two minute skit or live audition and, uh, sound and look like Rick Santorum, I guess. As the site helpfully notes, "Senators make a lot of speeches." So... you know... maybe you want to make a speech or something.

But don't think this is just some sort of fishing contest where you enter and win, oh no. In addition to prizes, if you're the best Santorum impersonator the contest you'll narrate a Philly Against Santorum DVD, appear at anti-Santorum rallies, meetings and maybe even go door to door.

Man, that kind of sounds like a lot of work. You know, I think I'll just run for Senate instead, I bet it's a little easier.

Is Rick going to say the impersonator is offending his Italian-ness?
