Councilman Mariano officially indicted

Yep, that's right, Councilman Drama Queen Rick Mariano has officially been indicted, according to a story in the Inky.

The councilman, who's expected to surrender to the FBI tomorrow, was indicted along with five others on charges of corruption, bribery, money-laundering and tax shenanagins.

One of the charges: a developer paid Mariano's tab for a membership at the Sporting Club; Mariano then turned around and helped him acquire a piece of property. Indeed, a few games of hoops against other rich white guys for a cool piece of city property. This is the kind of corruption I could get used to.

When he was under threat of being indicted, he climbed to the top of City Hall with a Bible and ended up causing a media frenzy since everyone thought he was thinking of killing himself.

Now that he says that's not true and he was just going up there to clear his head, we can all speculate on what Mariano's next move will be: I'm betting he climbs to the top of Liberty One with the Koran to clear his head.
