Lori Wilson Muffs Lyrics Mixup
There's finally video, courtesy of FTVLive.com, the best moment on 10! this year:
Hey, the news ("news") media is like fifth grade.

'10!' Adds Alcohol, Gets Interesting
Office actress and UArts grad Kate Flannery was on the 10! show this morning. Clearly, it quickly became the best episode ever, because there was alcohol involved.
Hey, I've known that drinking yourself makes local television easier to digest for a while. But who knew drinking from the people on TV made it a lot better, too?

Attend '10!', Win A Free Coffee Maker
It's no secret that NBC 10's local morning show, 10!, is particularly awful. The hosts are nice and they try hard, but that's about the only good. Here's something that sort of sums up the 10! show: Once a week, John DeBella brings in a dog up for adoption. There's one dog who's been brought back more than once.
Anyway, 10! has a live audience now, and here's how they're trying to make sure the seats are full with a strategy most recently used by Oprah (not that she needs any help) and by banks who used to give away toasters:
Yep. If you attend the 10! show, you could get concert tickets! Movie tickets! Toasters! A freakin' bike! Wait a minute, these are some pretty good prizes they're giving out. (Whatever, you could scalp Streisand tickets for a premium, I bet.) Why am I tell you about this? I need to grab a bunch of tickets for myself.

And, Oh Boy, Does This Look Like Fun
Watch Bill Henley and Lori Wilson vogue each and every weekday! You really couldn't get that from The View, could you?

Here's To Bill Henley, Who Sometimes Makes '10!' Watchable
If you've ever seen the NBC 10 morning talk show 10!, you know that it's bordering on trainwreck on most days. (Phillymag rated the show an F.) But, sometimes, Bill Henley decides to make it his own vaudeville show, and it's simply... well... this.

'Good Day' Drops Ball, '10!' Show Picks It Up
Now that Mascot Monday appears to just be an inexplicable part of our past, the other local morning shows are picking up the slack with mascots. Good show, 10! Good show.

'10!' Show Continues Pizza Party
For the past few weeks, we've been mystified by the mile-a-second, 25-guests-every-day 10! show, specifically its Papa John's pizza giveaway and its inability to set it up in any realistic fashion.
Today, it continues:
The end gets a little hard to see (especially on YouTube) with that breaking news update, so we took a screenshot the best part for youse.

10! Show's Pizza Parade Continues
The 10! show on NBC 10 does a weekly promotion where they give someone a Papa John's pizza. Sometimes, people act really excited.
And, sometimes, they don't play the part quite as well:

From the 10! show this morning:

Karaoke Will Never Get Old
The 10! show is holding a contest this week where you take a video of yourself singing along to Bon Jovi's "Who Says You Can't Go Home." You can win tickets to his show at Citizens Bank Park and a chance to sit on stage.
Apparently, the entries are rolling in. Here's a clip from yesterday:
She totally deserves to win.

This Makes Us Want To Vote For Pedro
I tried to cut this down to the few seconds that best explains this segment on 10! yesterday, but I really couldn't. So here's a five-minute clip of Efren Ramirez (Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite) DJing for the crowd, consisting mainly of old white women.
If you don't have the time, just let it load and scroll to the end to catch Bill Henley raising the roof.
Update, 1:04 p.m.: Oh, yeah. Ramirez is in town because he's introducing Ashlee Simpson at her concert tonight. But of course.

Lilliputian Weatherforecasters Tell Us To Stock Up On Milk, Bread
This morning on 10!, the only local morning show without dancing mascots (as far as we all know), the crew had on a local third-grade class who sang a song about weather forecasting.
Apparently, the kids took really well to the job, as some of them even impersonated NBC 10 weatherpeople:
Can figure out which kid is impersonating Glenn "Hurricane" Schwartz? Can you also figure out which kid is going to get beat up on the bus ride home? (Clearly, the answer to that second one is the cool kid wearing a tie with a polo shirt. What a fashion faux pas!)

Bill Henley Thinks He's A Sex Symbol
It's actually kind of more fun to watch this video -- from 10! this morning -- without the sound on. (Also, that hides the fact the audio and video aren't synched up at the beginning.)
"She's not used to working with a sex symbol." Oh, Bill, just use eHarmony.
Oh, yeah, and ladies: Is he one? I don't know these things.

Credits, clearly, are more important
Russell Simmons -- who was late, apparently -- showed up on 10! this morning at the very end, and, well, he didn't quite get to say everything he wanted to:
If you didn't see that in the video, Simmons will be at The Net at 1216 Chestnut Street today at 4:30, for those of you in town. Hopefully he'll get a chance to finish his speech that time.

Video: Bill Henley's double entendre
The second video of today is a bit of an old one, but since I finally got everything set up, I figured I'd pass it on. A few weeks ago my friend and local quizmaster, Johnny Goodtimes, happened to co-host the NBC mid-morning talk show, 10! I recorded it, and as such caught this moment.
He and co-host Bill Henley interviewed Miss America Jennifer Berry. She was showing off her crown, and the box her crown came in...
If you listen closely, you can hear crew members laughing after Henley says his unintentional one-liner.

Blogger to co-host NBC 10 show, world to explode
Everyone knows blogging is so hot right now. Blogs have increased respectability, celebrities are blogging (poorly) and there are even professional bloggers.
Yeah, you say. So what? Ahh, my friend, I am getting to that. Fresh off Quizzo Bowl II, Philadelphia Quizzo maven Johnny Goodtimes -- who doesn't pay me for this publicity -- will be co-hosting 10! on Wednesday, according to sources close to Mr. Goodtimes (i.e. him).
To be honest, I usually leave the house before 10! starts, since I like to be at my desk by 10 a.m. But since Lauren Hart left the show, host and meteorologist Bill Henley has been hosting with a variety of co-hosts, including a whole week when random viewers were selected to host.
Johnny Goodtimes immediately moves onto the "biggest celebrities to co-host 10!" list, somewhere in the A.D. Amorosi area (but below John DeBella and Pierre Robert). I'm sure Johnny will do a fine job as co-host, but you know what this means, right? 10! is down to hiring bloggers to co-host the show. Good luck with alllll that.
Side note: Bill Henley's biography contained the greatest thing seen on NBC10.com, like, ever: Bill Henley wallpaper. Not only that, but almost all the anchors have desktop wallpaper: John Blunt! Tracy Davidson! Harry Hairston! Bill Baldini! Edie Huggins! Even Deanna Durante! Sadly, though, NBC 10's Lauren Cohn doesn't have any on her bio page, which is a shame -- since that's the only wallpaper I really wanted. Sigh.

Quickies: None of this is good news
• I don't even know what to think of this. But it's a little disappointing that a con man under investigation for posing as a death-penalty expert was able to successfully pose as a psychotherapist. Yikes. [DN]
• Speaking of scary things: Being allergic to wheat isn't as rare as once thought. Yikes. [Inky]
• The kids in Jersey accused of beating up homeless people -- the "Bum Hunters," we've all dubbed them -- say they're not guilty. [KYW 3]
• Pierre Robert: Guest co-host of 10! today! Right now! Feel the magic, citizen!
